Reality is just strange as fiction - even Dr. Seuss' fiction. Who knew there was some truth to the popular Green Eggs and Ham?
From Kathimerini:
A veterinarian in Trikala, central Greece, became the talk of the town yesterday when he put on display two green eggs laid by the hen of a friend. Animal doctor Nikos Pallas said that the eggs were probably green because of something that the hen ate.

I used to have some bantam hens that laid "green eggs" when I lived in Georgia (and then later in North Carolina). The common name for the chickens is "Easter egg" chickens, but there is another name (starts with an "a" but I can't think of it). The eggs aren't bright green --- just a sort of bluish-green hue.
It has nothing to do with the diet. It's that particular breed.
