World Philosophy Day

In honor of World Philosophy Day, I ask you to mull this question, first posed by Friederich Nietzsche:

If you knew you had to live your life over again, exactly as it has been - no changes, no derivations from the path you have been on - would cry in agony or dance in jubilation?

I would be jubilant...I may have made some mistakes along the way but overall I have enjoyed my life. I have lived for good or bad and if I die tomorrow, no regrets and would do it again. Wish I were a bit more mobile though I still have a mountain to climb, but what the heck, can't have it all...ciao

I would be jubilant as well. Knowing the person I am today, and seeing how even my most painful experiences would help guide me to be who I am now, I would gladly do it over again.

Great question. Without hesitation, jubilant, warts and all.

Open to all Secondary Students in Christchurch, this day will provide the opportunity for students to explore issues in Philosophy. The day will be primarily discussion based, but will also include keynote presentations from students currently studying Philosophy at Hagley, Unlimited (UPT), and The University of Canterbury.
