Super Bowl Monday Morning

So the Super Bowl happens today, with the Colts and the Bears going head to head. Since it will be aired here live at 1:25 am, I won't be watching. Now, if the Titans had made it I might have made the effort to watch, but since the Colts have long since deserted my beloved Baltimore I can't say I give a damn.

It is nice that they show the Super Bowl here, at least. We get most of the basketball championships too, including college hoops. But baseball is still a whisper in the wind here - an unknown entity only a few of us seem to appreciate. With something like nine sports channels showing every possible sport known to man I keep hoping that someday, from some far corner of the world, they will show a baseball game. I'd be happy to watch the bad news Bears at this point in my baseball jones.

As for the Super Bowl, may the best team win, although I hear the odds are on the Colts.

I have never seen a Super Bowl, even though I have attended Super Bowl parties only to eat the snacks and watch my friends get drunk. But since I've moved here I have these pangs for the Super Bowl and the World Series and other things I never cared about in the US. Weird.
By the way, did you get my email? I wanted to ask you and your husband about Thessaloniki. I'm coming next weekend to do a story on your fair city.

I'm not much of a sports fan, though I did watch the 'Bowl back in 2000 when the Titans played. That was a fish-stinkin' outcome. Pooks wanted to watch the 'Bowl, but it's far too late to see it here, as well. Especially when you take the fact that it's at least 3 hours on the t.v.

Okay, I'll try again. Much hate for "new blogger" software. Anyway, ...

Never fear, Mel, I'll keep your baseball jones fed -- once the season gets here. Of course that means you'll get heavy doses of the World Champion St. Louis Cardinals rather than your beloved O's, but it'll still be baseball.
