"Immediate Reforestation"

Those are words I like to hear. The PM of Greece has promised reforestation of all burned forested areas, and lets hold him to it.

Not to be pessimistic, but I won't hold my breath.

Remember when Athens 2004's Gianna whatever her name was had a party at her house with fireworks (during the Olympics, no less) and burned down part of a forest? She wasn't even fined for it. All she did was apologize once.

I agree. You couldn't hold a Greek politician to a pot of gold coins engraved "Promises" and hope for him to keep it. If it was engraved "Public Money", it would be like prising a limpet off a rock at low tide, of course.

Let's hope this promise is kept.

As for Gianna Aggelopoulou Daskalaki, I remember my friend saying that she'd seen the fire and fireworks from afar and had commented "I wonder if we've won something?"
