Arrrrrrrrrrr, matey!

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Man's Chest is playing on 26 screens in and around Thessaloniki, 4 in the cinemaplex nearest us alone.

Now, I'm not knocking the movie, I haven't seen the first one yet, so I won't be seeing the second one. But seriously, y'all, there ARE other movies out right now, and I highly doubt the number of Thessalonians going to see the movie requires 26 theatres.

I'm still waiting for Clerks 2, although I have a sinking feeling it may get lost in the Greek market. It just seems that every movie I really want to see comes and goes within a couple of weeks. The last movie I saw in the theatre? Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. Everything else I've wanted to see has been gone by the time I get off my ass to go see it. I guess I gotta get out the first week if I really want to see a movie.

Good luck with your Clerks 2 quest. As I've already said, it's not bad -- if you don't set your expectations too high.

One daughter drools at the mere mention of Johnny Depp and the other *sighs* when Orlando Bloom comes on TV. The only reason they didn't drag me there on opening night to see it was because I've been working 12 hour shifts to get things done before I go on vacation... I liked the first movie very much.

p.s. I liked Burt Lancaster in a pirate film that the greek public television usually puts on each Christmas or holiday. Those were the days men could get away with tight fitting leotards and real life trapeze stunts...

I saw and quite enjoyed both the pirate movies, but youre right .. there's absolutely no friggin reason it still needs to be playing on two screens at each of the only two theaters in my little corner of the world! .. As for Clerks II, I hope you manage to see it, because its very, very funny and entertaining, almost as much as the original
