Stupid European recipes

For the love of all that is good and holy, can someone definitively tell me what 250 grams of Bisquick is in cups? That is, taking into account the whole weight to volume measuring debacle.

I just can't figure it out. And I'm not up for weighing ingredients for recipes.

1 cup = 225 grams, according to this handy page, so a very full cup should probably be about right.
Hope I'm right and it turns out OK... But the real question is WHAT IS BISQUICK???

Every American knows what bisquick is. Your non-american backround is shining through.

By the way, Bisquick is a pre-mixed baking product made by General Mills consisting of flour, sugar, vegetable shortening, salt, powdered milk and leavening soda.

According to General Mills, Bisquick was born when one of their sales exectutives met a train dining car chef who mixed lard and the dry ingredients for biscuits ahead of time. Originally intended for making biscuits very quickly, Bisquick can be used to make a wide variety of baked goods from pizza dough to pancakes to snickerdoodle cookies.

Bisquick is currently sold under the Betty Crocker brand name by General Mills.

Ha! Laura, I have had this problem on two continents and never solved it yet, but my online cheat sheet thinks it's 1/2 cup. So try Kassandra's first (because she is probably not talking out of her butt) and if that doesn't work, try mine.

And I'm trying not to brag, but I have to say I can always get graham crackers here in West Africa- I feel so superior!!!! (Having just been in Greece and feeling like I won the lottery in your grocery stores!). ;-)

Thanks Kassandra and Leanne - the info I searched for hovered between both 1 cup and 1/2 cup equalling 225 grams. How frustrating! I'll try 1 cup though, that makes much more sense. You just have to be a braggart about the graham crackers Leanne! But I'll find them here! I know I will!

And yes, Bisquick is a quick baking mixture to make hundreds of things. It is a godsend. You can make fresh biscuits for any meal in 10 minutes, not to mention delicious pancakes.

A cup is about 240 grams.

Get someone to send you measuring cups for both dry and liquid and measuring spoons from the US. I got a Measure-All cup from Pampered Chef and it does both dry and liquid measuring. Know anyone in the US that sells Pampered Chef stuff than can get you one?

Ah, great suggestion Dixie. I hadn't thought about there being such a thing before! I'll see if my parents can't find me something like that. Thanks!

Ok for everyone here... I'll put it to rest no estimation exact... 1 cup is equal to 125g I have a scale and use bisquick all the time for dumplings and pancakes... that is based on me taking a level cup and pouring it in the bowl on the scale that was the measure. Hope this helps off to make stew and dumplings happy baking.... CJ, American living Middlesbrough UK.
