You know you are a weather junkie when...

...you get excited when you learn that Greece is finally getting Doppler radar.

I read the report with glee, turned around, chirped the news to my husband and clapped happily. He responded with a look of sheer terror and perhaps some regret. You can take the girl away from the Weather Channel but you can't take the Weather Channel away from the girl. Or something like that.

I can't help it, I miss my Doppler radar.

This post made me laugh. Just last night I was flipping through the tv channels and came across the Italian weather channel. Who knew they even had one! I watched it for a short while and suddenly felt homesick for the Weather Channel back in America!

Hey, Mel, you should be here in N AL -- aka "tornado alley". Doppler is old school for us. We've got all these new and improved radars that seem to serve no other purpose than to let the weather folks scare the crap out of us with more vivid colors!

Prosciutto is a perfectly normal addiction though.

Cynthia, you are lucky! The Weather Channel was ALWAYS on when I lived in America. Pretty sad, really.

St. Caffeine, ah, I miss vivid radar colors! I miss being scared by impending doom! Doppler IS old school, kinda embarrassing that Greece is just now getting it.

I live with a man who gets excited over weather....in other countries.

He's setting his thermostat...and moving in that direction.
