Tuesday the 13th?

Well, apparently for Greeks, their Friday the 13th is Tuesday the 13th. I don't really get it, I mean, what is so ominous about a Tuesday, for crying out loud?

Anyway, some electronics store is having some giveaway today that if you bring in a black cat, they'll give you a home entertainment system. My brother-in-law has called twice trying to whore out our tiny cat Nala, who is mostly black but has white paws and a white underside..

I thought perhaps we should let him take her, for one because they will just tell him she isn't a black cat, and also so he can enjoy the merriment that is taking any one of our cats anywhere against their will. I daresay he'd never ask again, after doing it once.

I wonder what that would do to Jason should he ever come to Greece for a killing spree?

I had the same question so I ran a Google search. Rumour has it that the Turks took over Constantinople on a Tuesday the 13th and it's been regarded an unlucky day ever since, but some others are of the theory that this belief had come around one century earlier. Go figure.

Isn't that Jason guy dead yet?

I thought it was the day on which Constantinople fell to the Turk. That what I've always been told.

Constantinople actually fell on Tuesday May 29, 1453. I suppose the "apophras" day was combined with the unlucky numeral for maximum effect =p

Tuesday the 13th is the bad luck day here in Spain, too. Don't know why, though.

Well if you think about it it makes much more sense, I mean Friday is probably the best day of the week- you come back from work and you have the weekend ahead of you. Tuesday on the other hand kinda sucks!
