The London Aquarium has acquired some robotic fish, fully autonomous, able to swim around on their own (in a specially designed tank) and looking pretty damn spiffy too.
I am a big fan of robots, thanks to Isaac Asimov, and it seems these robot fish can have practical applications as well, like detecting pipeline leaks and improving the performance of under water vehicles.
My love for robots today is rather ironic, because when I was little, Sesame Street had a robot on it from time to time, and I always had to go hide in the dining room whenever it appeared.
