Thessaloniki to be overrun

Tomorrow starts the 70th Thessaloniki International Trade Fair, which means for a week and a half the city will be overrun by all kinds of politicians and freaks of various kinds. For the record, I hate when such events are in my home city (thank god Nashville didn't have a World's Fair when I lived there, that honor went to Knoxville), mostly because I hate it when local areas are eternally crowded with masses of people who aren't locals. Sure, I know it is a good thing for the city, hell, they do it every year - but I am going to do my best to avoid the congested areas, and I won't be taking the car out for the next couple of weeks.
